By visiting, accessing and/or registering on our website, you shall be deemed to have granted your free, specific, informed, unconditional and unambiguous consent to the present Privacy Policy as well as for the purpose of processing of the personal data, if any, furnished by you.If you choose to use our Service, then you agree to the collection and use of information in relation with this policy for the specific purpose as mentioned hereinafter. Any transactions relating to Donations carried out through this Website is to be conducted by persons above the age of 18 years only. If you are below 18 years of age, you are not allowed to make any transactions on this website and / or to furnish or provide any data (personal or otherwise) or information. It is the duty of legal guardians of all such persons who are below 18 years of age to ensure their wards do not make any transaction without their supervision. It shall be deemed that by allowing any person below 18 years of age to transact on this website their guardians expressly consented to their use, and we disclaim any liability arising from your failure to do so.

www.sofosh.org is the property of Society of Friends of Sassoon Hospitals which is a Public Charitable Trust, registered under the applicable laws as defined hereinabove, and having its registered office at: Opposite Shreevatsa Child Care Center, Sassoon General Hospitals, Pune – 411 001 Maharashtra, India.

Information we collect

SOFOSH through the said Website with the User’s prior specific consent obtains personal information to store and analyse the same with and intent to provide efficient and services best suitable to the Userand also for the purpose of recording the relevant information pertaining to the Donations received by it for all lawful purposes.

Any User who visits this website and wishes to donate / transact is required to register with the said Website. In the process of registering, the said Website required following information:

  1. Personal information: We want to inform you that at the time of registration with this Website, we collect information that your browser sends to us that is called Log Data. This Log Data may include information such as your computer/mobile phone’s Internet Protocol (“IP”) address, version of your operating system, browser version, pages of our Service that you visit, the time and date of your visit, the time spent on those pages, and other statistics.
  2. Payment and billing information: We may also be required to collect your Billing name, payment method at time of your booking. We DO NOT collect details pertaining your credit card, debit card, UPI, internet banking or any other platform used to make payment. Payment information will be obtained and processed by our payment partner.

Use of collected information

Purpose:

SOFOSH collects the above-mentioned information/data for the following purposes

  1. To identify the User and store his actions/orders/search history and provide customized, user-friendly interface while accessing and using the said Website
  2. With the prior consent of the User, intimate and share updates and latest newsletters with the User.
  3. To process your donations to SOFOSH and for any other transactions made on this website.
  4. To generate receipts / payment confirmations and acknowledge receipts for the donations made by the User /Donor.
  5. To process and generation any receipts / Certificates / Tax Exemption Certificates required to be furnished to the User / Donor.
  6. To store and process the information as may be required under the relevant and applicable laws in force, in relation to the issuance of the Tax Exemption Notices.

SOFOSH reserves the right to share such information / data provided by the User with any authorised third-party on need-to-know basis and bind such other party in a Confidentiality Agreement and protect further disclosure and/or unauthorized use of information/data provided in confidence by the User.

Further, the Personal Information/Data collected by SOFOSH through the said Website shall be linked and displayed to the account of the respective User only and in case of any error and/or amendment in the same the User may correct and/or amend the information.

However, under no circumstances, SOFOSH shall be liable or responsible for the Authenticity of Information/Data provided by the User on the said Website. SOFOSH shall not be liable to make good and indemnify the User losses/costs/expenses incurred by the User due to false and/or incorrect information. Alternatively, the User shall indemnify and/or make good any loss/expense/costs incurred by SOFOSH due to such false and/or incorrect information.

Security Parameters

SOFOSH states that it shall comply with the reasonable security practices and procedures and have a comprehensive documented information security programme and information security policy in accordance with Rule 8 of the Information Technology (Reasonable security practices and procedures and sensitive personal data or information) Rules, 2011

Under certain circumstances as detailed herein below, SOFOSH may be required to disclose any or all information provided by the User on the Website, and in such events the User specifically provides his consent: Order of any Court, Authority, and Government Agency requiring the disclosure of Information for legal purpose.
  2. Information available in Public Domain.
  3. Information available to SOFOSH prior to receiving it from the User.
  4. Information accrued by SOFOSHprior to receiving the same from the User without breaking any law in force and/or any other Contract and has come in possession of such Personal Data/Information lawfully.

Responsibilities of the User

It is your responsibility to protect any passwords you require to access your account on SOFOSH. Please use unique numbers, letters and special characters, and do not share your password with anyone. If you do share your password with others, you will be responsible for all actions taken in the name of your account and the consequences. If you lose control of your password, you may lose substantial control over your personal data and other information submitted to us. You could also be subject to legally binding actions taken on your behalf. Therefore, if your password has been compromised for any reason or if you have grounds to believe that your password has been compromised, you should immediately contact us and change your password You undertake to treat your password and other confidential information in relation to the use of SOFOSH and its services confidentially, and we disclaim any liability arising from your failure to do so.

Return of Information

Any sensitive Personal Information/Data collected by SOFOSH through the said Website shall be returned by SOFOSH to the User and/or destroyed from its records once the purpose for collecting such sensitive information/data is served and/or the information/data is no longer required.
